10 Most Ridiculous Attempts At Entering Eurovision Song Contest

eurovision 2013 With the 2013 offering of the Eurovision Song Contest fast approaching, all thirty-nine of the participating countries have selected their entries and are busy preparing for the big event. The methods of choosing the acts for each country differs massively; some countries choose to select an act through an internal selection with record labels involved, while others allow the public to vote in a "national final". Those finals are open to any and all acts in some cases, which at times leads to some...well, let's call them "different" performances when it comes to a live performance. Yes, every now and again you get an act that is either so out of tune, so ridiculously staged or entirely clueless as to their performance that you simply have to sit back and laugh. Think of this as a loving tribute to these acts - they might not have made it to the contest itself, but at least this might give them some of the notoriety they would have hoped for.

10. Kas jos tokios, "Unbreakable" - Lithuania, 2011

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwpLzz-s9Ko Let's be fair to the girls from Kas jos tokios; they're actually quite good singers who have strong harmonies. They're very attractive girls and their song, "Unbreakable" is also not too bad...so why did they choose to perform the entire song from within a wooden crate? There is seemingly no real explanation for this and there's not even a point where they "break free" from their makeshift prison. The audience seem totally bemused too, which at least suggest that this is not the standard procedure for acts in Lithuanian singing competitions. We can rest easy on that one. The trio came 12th out of 14 songs in their semi final, so we'll never know if they ever had anything more spectacular planned as an encore. A lumberjack cameo, perhaps?
