5. Manny Horvitz
Manny Horvitz (William Forsythe) was one of the shows more brutal characters. Involved in the murders of several prominent characters in the show, his brutal streak extends to suspected traitors in his own crew and obviously, those who try to kill him. While without a doubt one of the shows least likeable characters, Mannys brutal death is no less shocking given that its in the season three opener and goes against the whole episodes set-up (which is typical of the show). After his change of heart in season two, Manny seems like he is going to be a prominent fixture in Nuckys operation in season three. We even get a look into his happily married life outside the business as he spends time with his wife and receives a New Years gift of a hat as he prepares to go to work. Unfortunately for Manny, Richard Harrow (Jack Huston) does not take too kindly to his involvement in the death of Jimmy's wife Angela.. A knock on the door to which Manny thinks is his driver collecting him; he instead opens the door to a shotgun blast to the face from Harrow. Simple, yet shockingly effective.
