4. Angela Darmody
Angela (Aleksa Palladino) was never cut out for the world of Boardwalk Empire. The Jimmy she fell in love with 'died in the trenches' (as he said) and his return after the war as a completely different man left her a trapped woman and subsequently begins having affairs behind Jimmys back. Despite their best efforts, the couple are doomed from the beginning of the show. It is tragic then that Jimmy is the primary reason for her death. In the tenth episode of the second season, Angela becomes a victim of Jimmys business dealings. Very much the innocent party in all this (along with her lover Louise, who is also murdered), the Darmody household is infiltrated by Manny (who Jimmy tried to have killed, but failed), he finds Angela in the master bedroom and holds her hostage expecting Jimmy to emerge from the bathroom. He fires immediately once the door opens, but kills Louise instead and much to his confusion. His questioning of a shocked Angela who is holding her dead lover in her arms leads to the confirmation that she is Jimmys wife. Despite her pleas, the vengeful Manny declares the most important thing in life darling? Your health. Your husband did this to you, before brutally executing her.
