Frank Underwood is not a man who respects religion; as he once said, "I pray to myself, for myself". He also opened up season three by urinating on his father's grave! During a crisis of concious though, he seeks spiritual advice for answers, and finds himself unsatisfied with what he hears. "Love. That's what you're selling? Well, I don't buy it," Frank says before spitting in the face of Jesus. When he goes to wipe it off though, he gets a nasty surprise. The statue falls and shatters in front of the President, narrowly avoiding hitting him. Is this is a sign from the Gods that they will eventually catch up with Frank and make him pay, or an indication perhaps that even Jesus falls before him? However, you decide to interpret it, this was one of House of Cards' most shocking scenes, particularly in regards to the way Frank casually and cruelly disrespects something that means so much to so many.
