10 Most Shocking Plot Twists In Star Trek: Voyager
3. Course: Oblivion
Voyager fans know this episode well. The story follows the crew as they begin to dissolve and eventually discover they are copies made of the biomemetic compound from the earlier episode Demon. Then begins a race against time to find the real Voyager before they all dissolve and while they do find the real Voyager, it is seconds too late and all the real Voyager crew find are remnants of the ship.
From the beginning of the episode viewers are led to believe everything is normal and the crew they are watching are the real Voyager crew. There are a couple small details that keen viewers can notice that hint that not all is right in this timeline. The biggest one of these is that B'Elanna Torres and Tom Paris are getting married when it had not been shown in a previous episode that they were engaged.
It's small details like this that can, in retrospect, be identified and labelled by viewers as signs that a twist is coming. However the twist still shocks viewers and is another emotional gut punch delivered by this particular plot device. It's also one of the few Voyager episodes to reference events from another episode.
