Following the second game of ppopgi, the remaining players retreat to their dormitory, where an altercation occurs between crime lord Jang Deoksu and a player because the former and his newly formed gang wrongfully took food meant for other players.

The altercation is fatal as Deoksu kills the angered player. Later on, in a coordinated attack, the gangster murders another player and this sets off an even more fatal brawl where dozens of players are killed or gravely injured. The setpiece is a particularly hard watch due to how quickly the players give in to their worst instincts and turn on each other.

The bloodbath is only stopped by Player 1's impassioned plea for peace, an act that is itself saddening due to the elder player's visible fear and pain due to the senseless violence he had to endure watching. Later on, it was revealed that the game's organizers deliberately underfed the players to stoke the violence, a fact that is both infuriating and dejecting.
