10 Most Trippy Star Trek Scenes
7. Jam Session Groooooves
What better way to signal that the budget is cut and you're heading towards the end of a three-year run than to embrace the culture of the era and go for an all-out space jam (without Michael Jordan) on The Way to Eden?
This is precisely what happened with the most groovy group of groupies you could imagine led by Dr Severin, a man whose ears could give Ferengi lobes a run for their latinum.
Unarguably inspired by the flower-power movement of the time, the Enterprise plays host to a troupe looking for galactic peace and love that would even make a radiated Mr Burns sick.
But wait, there's clearly something missing here and the only way that we can get totally in the groove man is to swing as many of the crew over to their cause by being friendly!
Cue Spock plucking away while the oddness dials up to 11. He joins the musical jam session which sees Severin's guard totally feeling the music and therefore easily dispatched. The group is soon in auxiliary control and in command of the Enterprise.
For added bonus Super Trippy points, it's well worth checking out the impressive purple furry eyebrows and hair on one of Severin's followers.
