10 Most Trippy Star Trek Scenes
5. Play Horsey
Where do you start when it comes to one of the most infamous Star Trek episodes of not just TOS but of all time? Even if you take away the now legendary kiss between Kirk and Uhura, it still leaves fans with a plethora of moments perhaps with one to top the trippy fantastic.
It's not loaded with weird visuals or echoing music but the mere concept of watching William Shatner impersonating a horse certainly leaves an indelible mark on life.
Indeed, this might be the culmination of the scene but under the control of the manipulative Platonians, Kirk and Spock dance and sing as well as roll around on the floor, all in an effort to make Dr McCoy stay with them. Spock's tapdancing around the prone Kirk as though strung like a marionette leads to forced emotions and ultimately to the pinnacle of weirdness.
You can imagine the writers scratching their heads as to how to close out the scene after all this. What might they do? How about the mental spin drying that comes with seeing Kirk ridden like a horse by the diminutive Alexander replete with neighing?
Until this point Kirk and Spock have been sufficiently entertaining, however bringing Uhura and Chapel into the mix adds another less bizarre yet emotional twist to proceedings.
