10 Most Underrated Buffy The Vampier Slayer Episodes

8. I Only Have Eyes For You

Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Warner Bros.

Another Season Two addition, this is one of Buffy's most emotional outings, as it gives fans a chance to see Angel and Buffy together again. You know, only possessed.

This episode is excellent. For the last few episodes Angel has been Angelus – soulless, evil and calculating. But after the ghosts of a tragic murder begin possessing people and forcing them to recreate the heart-wrenching lead up and the murder itself, Buffy and Angel have a chance to talk to one another like lovers.

It’s brutal and moving. The acting is exquisite and watching Buffy and Angel pour their hearts out, saying all the things they want to say but can’t, is brilliant. The actual death being recreated is in itself very shocking and heart-breaking, and adds to the gravitas of Buffy and Angel’s brief reunion, which you can’t help but notice on re-watches is a foreshadowing of the inevitable end to the Angelus storyline.

Also, future Oscar nominee John Hawkes turns up, which is cool.
