10 Most Underrated Buffy The Vampier Slayer Episodes

3. Dead Things

Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Warner Bros.

This is about as dark and twisted as Buffy ever gets over its seven seasons. The reason for its inclusion in this is simple: Warren Mears. Whilst Season Six’s the Trio are often seen as the weakest Buffyverse villains, save perhaps Season Four’s Adam, there can be no doubt that the ringleader, Warren, is fantastic.

Adam Busch is great in this episode and once more shows that not all evil in the world is supernatural and steeped in mystery. Man is the true villain, and Warren is that evil personified.

Outside of Warren’s descent into rape, murder and insanity, you also have Buffy, believing she’s killed someone and wanting to turn herself in. Enter Spike, who lets himself get pummelled by the Slayer to let out her hate and anger. This episode not only shows how evil people can be, but also how truly broken and warped Buffy herself has become.

The acting is fantastic and the editing of Katrina's "death" is nothing short of genius.
