10 Most Underrated Sitcoms Of The Past Decade

If you're not familiar with Community, you're probably in the wrong place. A group of eccentric students find themselves at the same community college and form a study group. When you put it that way, the show sounds almost normal. It really wasn't.

The stories drifted into some truly insane places. Puppet episodes. Animated episodes. The fake Spanish teacher staging a coup and turning the school into a dictatorship. One of the students even had a full breakdown that resulted in a stop motion animation Christmas episode. No idea seemed to be off limits. What started as a school-based story about the human condition quickly escalated into something completely unique on network TV. It may not have always worked but it was always interesting.

Dan Harmon's absurdist sitcom about a community college never quite found a larger audience, in no small part due to behind the scene struggles. A less than private battle between Harmon and Chevy Chase was one of the most prominent issues, a battle that led to Harmon's temporary departure from his own series.

Community had the backing of critics and a cult following but never got the mainstream respect it deserved. It lived on the precipice of being cancelled its entire run. If nothing else, Donald Glover's career might not be what it is without his time on this series.
