10 Most Underrated TV Shows Of 2018 (So Far)
4. Preacher
You might think it a little premature to include a show that has only aired three episodes this year, but - even with such a small sample - there's no doubt that Preacher deserves a place on this list. The AMC series returned for its third season in June, and if those first few episodes are anything to go by, Season 3 will be its best yet.
The series follows Jesse Custer, an eccentric small-town preacher who befriends an Irish vampire named Cassidy. After discovering that God is no longer in Heaven, Jesse embarks on a road trip with girlfriend Tulip and Cassidy as they set out to find the almighty leader.
Without a doubt the most unique show on television, Preacher manages to maintain a perfect balance between comedy and drama, without ever swerving too far into nonsensical. The writing is wonderful, and the cinematography is astoundingly good. Moreover, the three leading actors - specifically Dominic Cooper - all deserve awards for their performances.
In spite of its brilliance, Preacher struggles with viewership, and isn't anywhere near as popular as AMC's other programming.
