Sense8's highly anticipated series finale hit Netflix earlier this year, serving as the culmination of what was an incredibly underrated show. The sci-fi series centred on the story of eight strangers - all from different parts of the world - who become emotionally and mentally connected to one another.
Featuring a multinational cast, Sense8 was praised for its representation of LGBT characters, while also dealing with topics such as politics, religion and identity. The writing never failed, with a compelling arc keeping us entertained from start to finish. The extended finale served as the perfect ending, satisfying Sense8 fans everywhere.
In spite of its acclaim, Sense8 wasn't the success Netflix was hoping it to be. That's not to say that it didn't have a fanbase - because it had an incredibly devoted one - but the series was simply too expensive for the streaming service to keep producing - hence the decision to end it.
