10 Most Unexpected Star Trek Moments

7. Rescued By The Klingons

Star Trek Deep Space Nine's Sacrifice Of Angels always appears on any badass moments in Star Trek lists for several, very obvious, reasons. The entire battle sequence between the Federation and Dominion fleets is spectacular, to the point of the documentary What We Left Behind making a few jokes about how badly the fans wanted it in HD.

And they delivered, as can be seen in the attached photo!

However, from that entire episode, one moment stands out above the rest. The USS Defiant, pushing hard through the fleet, is being hunted by several Jem'hadar fighters and for a moment, looks like it may be overcome. Then, like a hoarde of Valkyries riding down, the Klingon Fleet saves the day, de-cloaking and opening fire on all Dominion ships that they can.

Worf's hail to the Defiant, apologizing for being late, is just the icing on the cake of this fantastic, and fantastically unexpected, moment from Star Trek!
