10 Most Unexpected Star Trek Moments

5. Arrival Of The USS Enterprise

Star Trek Discovery Enterprise
CBS

While it had always been planned behind the scenes to end the first season of Star Trek Discovery with the introduction of the USS Enterprise, no one was prepared for just how beautiful the new design was going to be.

The Kelvin universe redesign of the Matt Jefferies classic has both its passionate fans, and staunch haters. Yet, the John Eaves redesign for Discovery seems to be almost universally adored.

As she swooped into view in that final episode, the crew of the Discovery were shocked into silence while the audience were overjoyed to see, not only the ship herself, but the confirmation that Discovery was going to now come closer into the greater franchise as a whole.

A fantastic way to close the first season and a fantastic moment of utter delight.
