10 Must-See Previous Roles From New Twin Peaks Residents

1. Tim Roth – Pumpkin/Ringo, Pulp Fiction

If Jones is the new character actor of the moment, Roth is the elder statesman, a veritable chameleon seen here in Tarantino's seminal 1994 work as an enterprising low-rent criminal in exactly the wrong place. Effortlessly manoeuvering Tarantino's rapid-fire dialogue as well as anybody he's ever directed, Roth here demonstrates that he is more than capable of delivering the flowery lines of Twin Peaks' more articulate citizens, like Windom Earle and Ben Horne.

Like Jones, Roth can play any role he sees fit, which makes him similarly hard to place. But really, it's just great to see an actor we've not seen enough of lately cast in a project befitting his talents. If you can levy one criticism against Twin Peaks, it's that some of the actors involved - Lenny Von Dohlen's Harold Smith and Annette McCarthy's Evelyn Marsh, to name but two - did not live up to their billing.

With Roth et al on board, that is happily no longer the case. Which just makes the wait that bit more agonising.
