10 Must-See Previous Roles From New Twin Peaks Residents

2. Caleb Landry Jones – Percy Hapgood, Queen & Country

Jones is an actor who has demonstrated startling range in his fledgling career, to such an extent that it’s difficult to determine where he might fit in. Here, in John Boorman’s directorial swansong, he plays brash young armed forces upstart Percy Hapgood, trusted friend to protagonist and Boorman alter-ego Bill Rohan (Callum Turner).

Jones possesses an intense physicality – his skin practically glows red during the grappling scenes with Turner - belying the true vulnerability shown elsewhere in his doomed twin pursuits of romance and mutiny.

The emotional range shown in what is an underrated film (with one of the greatest, understated final shots you'll see) is cause enough for optimism – and that’s without factoring in his markedly different performances in Byzantium and Antiviral, which have earmarked him as Hollywood’s new go-to creepy young thing.
