The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air became a staple sitcom show in many households within the '90s, as young Will Smith ventured his way to start a new life out of West Philadelphia. An all-star cast portrayed Will's comedic family and the show overall received critical acclaim for its approach to worldwide issues at the time.
The original show ran for six seasons, with nearly everyone knowing the lyrics to the theme song to this very day.
Last year, a new independent trailer surfaced, as creator Morgan Cooper reimagined the show as a dramatic telling of Will's move to Bel-Air. Will Smith soon picked up on the trailer, along with streaming service Peacock's producers, who decided to make the show a reality.
Since its release last year, the trailer has collected six million views and fans have demanded to know more on when the show will surface. Smith himself announced on his own YouTube Channel that Bel-Air will be running for two seasons on Peacock starting in 2021.
HBO Max has since released a Fresh Prince reunion special with the cast reuniting for an unscripted episode and speaking about their own journey on the show.
