Based on the 2013 bestseller from Lily Koppel, The Astronaut's Wives Club is a television show set during the 1960s, revolving around women and their lives on Earth while their husbands make history up in space. There's the distinct possibility that this show could go the way of Pan Am or The Playboy Club, but considering how universally well-liked the book was, it seems like there's enough solid material in the concept to make for a very interesting period show. Originally slated to premiere sometime this summer, it's instead being pushed back to the fall so that the writers can expand upon the concept and incorporate later Apollo and Gemini missions into the story (it was only intended to cover the Mercury astronauts at first). This says that although they're not completely happy with the final product, they're confident enough with the concept to push through and make it as good as possible.
