The plot breakdown of a comedy revolving around a group of self-absorbed twenty-somethings isn't exactly the sort of thing they hand out Pulitzers for, and the poorly chosen title gives the entire show an already slightly dated feel. But regardless, we're still going to give this one a chance. Why? It stars the infinitely charming Karen Gillan in her first post-Doctor Who role, that's why. Albeit with a dodgy American accent. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQqozmwlE00 It's apparently a modern day My Fair Lady story that shows a social media obsessed woman apparently trying to reconnect with the real world. And let's be one hundred percent clear: the trailer is abominable. Truly, truly terrible. But with these types of shows, the potential for success is all about the execution rather than the actual concept. So while it's totally possible that Selfie could be dead in a year, if audiences identify with one or more of the characters, it could go into the same sphere as New Girl and other well-liked television comedies.
