10 NEW Star Trek Series For CBS All Access We Want To See
5. Guinan
The Enterprise-D had a lot of interesting features but one of the best was Ten Forward. Essentially, it was a bar on the ship for the crew to go relax in. The bartender was Guinan, a member of a mysterious race called the El-Aurians. They were scattered by the Borg and disliked by the Q, which lent credence to Q's claim that there was more to Guinan than met the eye.
Guinan appeared to have a previous relationship with Picard, one that he wasn't even fully aware of until later in the series. She was his key adviser and confidant, aware of things on a much greater level most people. Since the vast majority El-Aurians were killed or assimilated by the Borg, only a couple members of this species beyond Guinan have appeared in any Star Trek series or movie.
Both Guinan and her race are incredibly interesting, their mysterious nature firing up fan's collective imaginations. A series focusing on the El-Aurians through her eyes could look at their pre-Borg lives, the attack that scattered them and how they have survived since.
Fans might get more Guinan sooner than they think. While appearing on The View, Patrick Stewart personally offered Whoopi Goldberg the chance to appear on Star Trek: Picard and reprise her role as Guinan. Given her response, it's safe to say that she is very interested in the opportunity. So are fans.
