2. The Simpsons
At one time I was one of the biggest Simpsons fans in the world. I thought that it was a brilliant show and I had a ton of merchandise ranging from shirts, buttons, and video games to even a stuffed Bart doll. Every Sunday night for several years I made sure to be in front of my television so that I could watch the newest episode and if I had to miss it for whatever reason I always made sure to set the VCR to record it for me. In the beginning the show was original, intelligent, and funny as Hell and I couldnt get enough of it. I cant pinpoint when exactly things started going south, but I think it was around the time that the focus of the show moved from Bart to Homer somewhere in the late 90s. I tried to stay loyal and made an effort to continue watching it but it got to the point that sitting through an entire episode was sort of like being slowly tortured. The writers started recycling storylines over and over again (if I ever see another episode with Sideshow Bob I am going to run away screaming into the night as the character has had way too many appearances over the years) and things just stopped being witty and funny. I watched a couple of episodes this past season and they were just painfully bad to the point that I found myself beginning to hate most of the characters. I dont know how anyone else feels about it, but I think it is time to pull the plug on this puppy before it gets even worse than it already is.
