10 Origins Of Star Trek Props You Won't Believe

In the Original Series episode Shore Leave, the crew was exhausted after three months straight of operations and decided to stop at a planet in the Omicron Delta system for some shore leave. Little did they know that this planet is actually an alien amusement park where all thoughts become reality.

They encountered a number of whimsical and ridiculous things, including a katana-wielding samurai, a knight on horseback, a World War II fighter plane, and Kirk's old classmate who used to bully him in Starfleet Academy. By far, the weirdest thing that the crew hallucinated was the White Rabbit from Alice In Wonderland.

In an interview with StarTrek.com, the actor who played the White Rabbit in this episode, Billy Blackburn, stated that he got the costume for free while performing as a figure skater for The Ice Capades. This whole episode seems like it was written just because the production crew had a bunch of random costumes lying around that they wanted to use.
