10 Origins Of Star Trek Props You Won't Believe

3. Matthew's Christmas Present

Star Trek Nemesis Buffy
CBS And Kenner

Fans of the Alien franchise may be pleased to know that, appearently, the movies do exist in the Star Trek timeline. At least, that's what we'd be led to believe by the toy we see in the seventh film.

In Star Trek: Generations, Picard is sent to the Nexus, an alternate reality where everything is exactly how you want it to be. In this illusion, Picard dreams of having a lovely Christmas with his family and his fictional son, Matthew. Weirdly, the Christmas present that Matthew opens is actually a Space Marines EVAC Fighter from the 1992 Aliens action figure line by Kenner Products. They did nothing to change the toy and it is clearly recognizable as the ship from the Alien franchise.

It's great to know that somewhere in Picard's subconscious, he knows that any truly perfect reality would include the Alien movies. The Captain always had good taste.
