10 Planned Seasons Of Cancelled Sci-Fi TV Shows
7. Star Trek Enterprise
The cancellation of Star Trek Enterprise in 2005 was a huge blow to Trek fans, since some iteration of Star Trek had been on their screens for the past 19 years. While Enterprise didn't win over many fans in its first two seasons, the third served as an excellent palate cleanser and the fourth showed a direction that the show should have taken all along. Many a fan spoke of how the show was just getting good as it was axed.
The fourth seasons focused on telling origin stories for many of Star Trek's interesting questions. They dealt with Vulcan society as we know it today, they dealt with human resentment of alien presence on Earth and most importantly, they explained why Klingons had smooth foreheads in The Original Series.
Plans for a fifth season had included a storyline that visited the cloud city of Stratos, an idea that Manny Coto wasn't able to fit into the fourth season (from the TOS episode The Cloud Miners) and the beginnings of the Earth-Romulan War. Fan favourite character Shran (the Andorian played by Jeffery Combs) would also have joined the crew full time to be a weapons expert and counter the influence that the Vulcans had on humanity.
What could have been.
