5. Altered Carbon
While many assumed Altered Carbon to be a victim of the Covid-19 Pandemic, it was in fact the sky-rocketing budget that saw Netflix deciding to cancel the series. Based on a series of novels by Richard K. Morgan, the first series of Altered Carbon stuck fairly close to the plot of the first novel, also called Altered Carbon. The second series actually took more cues from the third novel in the series, Woken Furies, compared to the immediate sequel, Broken Angels.
Given the recasting possibilities and the gorgeous visual nature, there was a lot of potential for a third series of Altered Carbon. It is likely that a third season would have featured more of the story hooks from the second novel in the series, Broken Angels, with our anti-hero Takeshi Kovacs delving further into the machinations of the Mandrake Corporation.
Unfortunately it was just too pricey to live, but was followed up by an animated film.
