Speaking of the SHIELD comic, the stand out of the run so far has to have been the second issue, where Agent Coulson and Skye deal with a supervillain in a high school with the help of an unlikely figure. Kamala Khan has been racking up sales, column inches and critical acclaim alike as the latest Ms Marvel, but the first teen Muslim superhero in Marvel's long and rich history of white dude superheroes. Not only that, but the comic is a lot of fun, and is appealing to a younger and more diverse audience than the flagging industry has done in a long time. Kamala deals with her sudden superpowers mainly involving being able to transform into other people, shrink and grow, and stretch like Mr Fantastic the way any teen girl from a well-to-do religious family does. Which is to say not very well. Including, but not limited to, teaming up with Wolverine and telling him all about her Logan/Storm steamy fanfiction. She's an immensely charming character with a lot of mainstream hype, a big following, and ties into both the upcoming Captain Marvel film (the titular star is her hero), and Agents Of SHIELD and Inhumans (since Kamala is one of the latter). The powers would work well animated. Basically, Ms Marvel is the full package. And it even has the company's name in the title! You can't buy that kind of publicity! You can spend a lot of money on making this animated series a reality, though. You hear that, Kevin Feige?
