10 Problems Nobody Wants To Admit About Peaky Blinders

9. There Is Too Much Focus On Tommy Shelby

PEAKY BLINDERS
BBC

Tommy Shelby has grown from being the lead character amongst an ensemble of supporting players, all with shared importance to the overall story, to the single dominating force influencing all elements of the show now.

The character is literally forced to carry the show at times on the back of his smoulder and massive balls and it has stopped working. Tommy seemingly relies on no-one in his family at times and yet, depends on everyone doing exactly as he says when a plan needs to come together or things go south, but even if that happens he is still able to somehow come out on top.

The problem with this is everyone else in the show with their own ambitions and designs are rendered utterly useless because they always come second to Tommy's, and even if they think they can get off and get away from him, they are ultimately always drawn back towards him, making their endeavours pointless.

The show has stopped being interesting as a result of too much attention being given to Tommy, with everyone from his family and friends, to even his rivals becoming just flatly boring by comparison as even they are unable to make a lasting dent in his fortunes.
