10 Problems With The X-Files Revival Nobody Wants To Admit
6. Fans May Need A Refresher
It's been a long time since the X-Files, as a series, was in its original run on television. While 2008 saw the second film, The X-Files: I Want To Believe, it was buried in the wake of the massive hit that was Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight.
On top of that, it was a standalone movie that picked up years after the show left off, and didn't really revisit a lot of the show's history. If you weren't an up-to-date fan of the series, you'd probably feel a little lost in the film. If you were a brand new fan? Then who the heck was the bald guy making the save at the end?
Well, that won't fly on TV these days. The X-Files aired its final episode May 19th, 2002. While it has been available on DVD for ages (early sets sold especially well), and can be streamed, the show will have to gamble that enough fans will take a little refresher course prior to tuning in - otherwise, with just six episodes and little time for recaps, those who haven't got caught up may quickly tune out.
