The Character: Madame Marie Delphine LaLaurie The Inspiration: Madame Marie Delphine LaLaurie The Story: LaLaurie was an absolutely dreadful woman and horrible racist who lived in New Orleans back in the 1800's. She was beheaded, and it's still said that her old home is haunted by the angry spirits of her slaves.
