10 Reasons DC Fans NEED To Watch Titans

7. The Tone Works Well

Titans' rather serious tone likely came as a big surprise to those who were expecting the same quirky (occasionally dramatic) mood as the animated shows. Instead, the Titans' rather tragic backgrounds would influence both the plot and the overall direction of the show, resembling a violent soap opera rather than fun, lighthearted misadventures.

For some, that may not sound immediately appealing. After all, when you picture a comic book show (that isn't called Riverdale), you don't picture that description. However, here it's a soap opera in the sense that there's a central overarching plot and conflict that is relevant to everyone in some sense, rather than it being an assorted amount of episodes with their own isolated stories and events.

The structure of the show is centered around world-building and raising the stakes of the main story gradually, all while including plenty of action at carefully-selected intervals.

If you're wary about a show that fits this description, then it may not be for you. Don't be afraid to give it a chance though. Titans embraces a serious tone, but with a healthy mix of unforced humour and steady action sequences, this is far from your typical soap opera.
