10 Reasons A Friends Movie Would Be A Terrible Idea

1. Is Ten Years Too Long?

We€™d all see the Friends film if it happened. Even if all the reviews were terrible, we€™d still want to see what it is like. Considering most TV-to-film adaptations happen soon after the show ends, is ten years too long a gap? We€™ve spoken about the questions that have arisen since Friends finished, and we€™ve talked about the issues of the ages of the actor. The prolonged time that Friends has been off the air makes doing a film seem rather desperate. The show never had to try to make jokes, they all seemed natural. This was in part due to the superb writing, and in part due to the precision timing of the actors. To come back after ten years would require work on the jokes, and it would simply not be worth it. The show fit in perfectly for when it was on TV, but would that type of humour still be funny? Shows such as How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory have taken the same sort of humour Friends and built upon it. Friends was the basis of these jokes, but the humour has been expanded. Let€™s leave Friends as it ended; as an incredible show with great actors and amazing writing. What did you think? Should they make a film? Are there any impediments to the film that we missed out? Let us know in the comments below.
