10 Reasons A Friends Movie Would Be A Terrible Idea

6. They€™ve Aged

Everyone ages. That is a fact. Since the show has been off the air for a decade now, the actors no longer look like the characters they found fame as. Matt Leblanc€™s grey hair would turn Joey from a charming character to looking rather desperate. Joey€™s promiscuity suited his age in the show, but it would not be right for a middle aged Joey to be continuing his life in that manner. The show found success because the cast were young when they started; older viewers could remember being that age whereas audiences of that age could relate to the show. If a movie were to be made then this feeling would be missing. This is not an ageist argument, it is a fact that the writers would have to drastically alter the jokes and style of the show in order to accommodate the age of the stars. If there were to be a Friends movie, you would want it to have a similar style to the show, but that is simply not possible anymore.
