2. The Innuendos

The innuendos are an integral part of the Great British Bake Off, as soon as the series starts Radio 1's innuendo bingo is littered with quotes from the show – it's almost as if Mel and Sue are purposely ramping up their innuendo game…

The gags began at the very beginning; one of episode 1's challenges was to make a madeira cake. Cue beauties such as 'one crack bad, two cracks better', and 'right bakers, time to reveal your cracks!' Things didn't stop throughout episode 3 when Flora described her methods for 'pinching her bottom seam', and
episode 4 saw the wobble of a crème brulée discussed at length.

'The wobble should be like me backside' explained Sandy when Sue questioned her 'what wobble are you looking for? A Kim Kardashian? A Jessica Rabbit?'

Episode 8 was the pinnacle of innuendo for this series though; Sue greeted bakers with 'The following signature challenge has been assessed by the Double Entendre Police and I'm delighted to inform you that Paul and Mary would love you to make cream horns. And there's nothing fun to say about that whatsoever.' Nadiya was complimented for her 'exemplary horn' and the British public giggled like children throughout.
