10 Reasons Why Better Call Saul Could Be As Good As Breaking Bad

9. Saul's Character Has Plenty Of Room To Develop

A problem with any spin-off which serves as something of a prequel for an established character is that the audience already knows where the character's development is headed. With Better Call Saul, we're already familiar with Saul's role in Breaking Bad and it could be argued that this removes the element of surprise. But as the opening flash forward in the pilot episode of Better Call Saul hinted, the series will not only be examining how Jimmy McGill becomes Saul Goodman, but also the path his life takes following on from the Breaking Bad timeline. At the same time, watching how the character we see in the early episodes of Better Call Saul transforms from downtrodden public attorney into the go-to legal guy for Alberquerque's criminal fraternity is bound to be a lot of fun - as the saying goes, the journey is as important as the destination.
