10 Reasons Why Bob's Burgers Is Better Than Family Guy

Family Guy is not shy of making pop culture references and using famous guest stars for their narrative. All cartoon sitcoms (including Bob’s Burgers) use these tropes to an extent and if executed correctly, they can make for some really terrific comedy which will stand the test of time.

However, the writers of Family Guy have such an over-reliance on obscure references to minor celebrities and movies, that they already feel dated. Moreover, Family Guy’s brand of provocative comedy, whether it’s the transphobic jokes against Ida Quagmire or the racial stereotyping of Trisha and Ollie, stick out poorly and will only worsen overtime.

Admittedly, the writers of Bob’s Burgers tend to play it safe with their content, but it’s likely to do them a service for when people re-visit these respective animated series’ in thirty years time and decide which one isn't a product of its time.
