2. Darth Vader
Stories involving Doctor Aphra all seem to take place in the time between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. As such, she tends to run afoul of the Empire on a regular basis as well as the Rebel Alliance. Unfortunately for her, Aphra is often the focus of one of the most dangerous people in the galaxy, Darth Vader.
Her first appearance in the comics came about when Vader was on his own rogue mission away from the Emperor's interests. He tracked Aphra down for a specific purpose, then decided to keep her around as his agent.
Aphra's main mission for Lord Vader was learning more about a certain Force using pilot who destroyed the first Death Star.
As Aphra expected, their partnership eventually ended with Darth Vader trying to kill her. She let the Sith Lord believe he was successful, allowing her to get out from under his thumb. For a time, at least. The connection between Aphra and Vader would certainly add an interesting dimension to any TV series about her.
