10 Reasons Why The Office Season 9 Should Be The Show's Last

4. The Show is No Longer Realistic

The Office used to be a satirical take on the workplace, where mundane subjects that happen everyday were twisted brilliantly to provide laughs. It was comedy based on realistic awkwardness and sarcasm, not slapstick and extremism. However, recently it has slid into sitcom territory, with episodes frequently based around unrealistic trips out of the office, ridiculously over-the-top character traits and implausible events. No longer is it something you can relate to, like diversity day seminars, healthcare plans being picked and performance reviews, it's now field trips to Gettysburg, doomsday devices and surreal pool parties.
