Daredevil: 10 Reasons Wilson Fisk Is The Best MCU Villain
5. He's Vulnerable
Our first introduction to Wilson Fisk, other than Wesley's allusions to his "employer", is of those who utter his name and fear his wrath. Yet when we finally meet him, we see him as a man who is nervous about asking a woman to dinner, and is humble enough to admit that despite his wealth and taste, knows nothing about fine wines. Right from the start Fisk is portrayed as a fully rounded individual: yes he is powerful and violent, but this does not come at the expense of his humanity.
For all his displays of strength, the fact that he sees himself as a 12 year old boy is actually pretty accurate, which lead to him executing Ranskahov as nothing more than a big temper tantrum for not getting his way. And this was just the start of the personal problems he had to deal with, including the attempted assassination of his partner Vanessa who his associates see as a distraction, as well as the death of his right hand man and only friend.
Wilson Fisk is a man of incredible wealth, and who chooses to spend it on art which makes him feel alone. For Wilson Fisk, this is finding comfort in the only thing he knows. In this branch of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, being human is a lot more than just not being extra-terrestrial.
