Daredevil: 10 Reasons Wilson Fisk Is The Best MCU Villain
6. He Loves His Mother
It may be something that is easily overlooked, but Wilson Fisk's dedication to his mother, Marlene Vistain, speaks volumes about his role as both New York mob boss, and comic-book villain. For all his influence and power, he has never forgotten where he came from, including the woman who gave birth to him. Of all the reasons other MCU villains chose to take the lives of others, visiting their mother isn't one of them.
Although it could be easy to assume that he has hidden her away (the only person who knows the truth of his patricide) for his own protection, the sheer intensity with which he kills Ben Ulrich is rather strong evidence of it not being that complicated. He also denies the fact that killing his father in the first place was about protecting his mother. This may not have been the case, but surely the fact that it occurred whilst she was being beaten by him is no coincidence.
Fisk is far from the only villain to care for his mother, but unlike Loki who was obviously distraught upon hearing the news of Frigga's death, Fisk is not one to hide his feelings. Sending her to Italy after just one visit might be seen as an overreaction, but his throttling of Ulrich with his own hands is the defining definition of overkill.
