6. The Fear Is Real
It IS scary. This problem isn't isolated to Fear, it's a genre-wide criticism that fans will always bring up with horror productions. "It isn't scary." But as previously mentioned, while Fear isn't outrageously jam-packed with action, it does have some genuinely edgy scenes, with the finale providing several. One of the most claustrophobic scenes of the show was watching Strand and Nick making their escape, only to be foiled by a security-locked door. The strobes flicker on and off, each time the walker horde draw nearer, there's no way out, there's desperate gunshots being fired, then the main group swoop in to make a rescue. Nick's basically saying his goodbyes, and while the show remains in its infancy, his future was still in doubt. Seeing the cool customer Strand sweating was enough of an indicator that the situation was dire, and there was some real fear for them.
