8. Murderville (2022)
Murderville is a US remake of Murder In Successville, an originally British improvisational detective comedy show that ran between 2015 to 2017. Following the same premise, each episode sees a celebrity guest appear to participate in the episode - the twist being that they don’t have a script.
Whilst the UK original had comedian Tom Davis in the role of the central detective, Murderville offers up Will Arnett, perhaps best known for his role in US sitcom Arrested Development. Right now there are only six episodes, featuring big names ranging from talk show host Conan O’Brien to American Football idol, Marshawn Lynch.
The episodes all follow the same basic formula of meeting three suspects, having strange interactions with them, then trying to figure out which one of them committed that episode’s central murder. Along the way the improvisation provides plenty of hilarious moments and more than enough second-hand embarrassment to promise you a good time.
It’s definitely not for everyone because of its niche style of humour, but with the episodes only being half an hour in length, you’ve got nothing to lose by giving it a go.
