10 Red Dwarf Fates Worse Than Death
2. Trapped in the Justice Zone
Another instance of Red Dwarf covering some heavy duty topics, the crew have found themselves in prison more than once over the years, but Rimmer's first incarceration is far, far worse than the collective's stint in "The Tank".
Series 4's "Justice" saw Rimmer locked up for wiping out the crew of Red Dwarf due to his negligence/incompetence. Three million years into the future and the Justice Zone prison is completely uninhabited, save for some sentient shoes and a cold, analytical AI that really does know what you did last summer!
Whilst the concept of the Justice Zone Rimmer is trapped within makes sense, the brutality of it's karma based system is outright cruel and unforgiving. Take the example of a white lie. You could tell a fellow inmate a particularly dodgy haircut looks great and find yourself punished for protecting their feelings because lying is inherently wrong. Madness!
Chuck in the fact you couldn't even return a library book a day late without one of your own possessions going missing, and you'd be begging for the electric chair in no time.
