10 Rick And Morty Episodes Probably Made Out Of Spite

This episode can be seen as a voice speaking out about the issues surrounding unemployment in the US. While Rick and Morty are away on Purge Planet, Jerry tries to get to know his daughter Summer. He makes a valiant effort at mending the father-daughter relationship but is often interrupted by his employment status.

The episode follows themes about the imbalance between the rich and the poor and the impact that unemployment can have on families and the relationships within them. The theme is quite sad, but in typical Rick and Morty fashion, the creators find a way to make light of a very real and heartbreaking situation.

While all of this is going on, Rick and Morty have gone off on a murder spree on the planet purge which definitely balances out the very real themes with the slightly ludicrous storyline. The purge theme definitely makes fun of the horror movie that was received quite poorly by critics around the same time. You know you’ve made something terrible when the creators of Rick and Morty decide to make fun of you for a whole episode.
