10 Rick And Morty Fan Theories That Change Everything
1. The Ticket Theory
You know that if a fan theory has been given its own title, it must be gaining a lot of traction online. The Ticket Theory spans across multiple episodes of the show, and seemingly proves that the Rick and Morty we follow aren't always the same ones.
In Mortynight Run in season two, Jerry is dropped off at the intergalactic daycare for different versions of himself. Since Rick is either unsure of what dimension they are in after the events of Rick Potion #9, or is simply too lazy to write it down, he labels Jerry's dimension as N/A, and is given ticket 5126.
When the Rick and Morty we have followed through the episode return to collect Jerry, Morty has lost the ticket, however there is another version of the titular duo that ask if that particular Jerry is number 5126. This seemingly confirms that the episode follows a completely different version of Rick and Morty, with the original two only turning up at the end to collect their Jerry.
In Total Rickall two episodes later, Rick discards the crystals we see him pick up in Mortynight Run, seemingly confirming that we are still following the same Rick and Morty from two episodes prior. This also explains why life long family friend Mr Poopybutthole has never been seen or mentioned before. The C-137 Rick and Morty must not live in a dimension where they are friends with the zany new character, but this new Rick and Morty do.
For all we know, there could be a new Rick and Morty followed in just about every episode.
