Yes, Zack can freeze time, but he's the lead and sort of serves at the narrator at times. It's usually just a narrative device, which is a good thing since we've established that he's a sexual predator. On the other hand, everyone on the show knew that Screech built Kevin, a sentient robot friend who we saw in the first season and early part of the second season. So Screech is a genius when it comes to robots and artificial intelligence, and he's just a high school freshman. He never tries to make money or otherwise improve his lot in life. Even when a rogue FBI agent comes to Bayside because he thinks Screech is an alien, nobody thinks to say "Hey, he's a genius who can build awesome subservient robots."
