10 Sci-Fi TV Show Moments That Pissed Off Fans

8. Alisha's Death - Misfits

The Walking Dead
Channel 4

Misfits was a fresh TV series that subverted the style of super powers by placing them with a bunch of ASBO young people doing community service. The show brought profanity, drugs, sex and hilarity into the superhero genre and became one of Channel 4’s most loved modern cult TV series.

With a collection of up and coming actors and actresses, fans loved seeing the realistic side of powers, especially in the wrong hands. We became invested with the ensemble cast and it was the fractious dynamic of the main group that pulled people in.

However, this changed with Alisha’s death, a shock departure in Season 3. Not only was this death fast and shocking but it felt so shoved into the episode in a way that seemed like the writers forgot about it and threw it in.

Fans were also annoyed at how this meant the departure of Simon’s character as he now had to fulfil a pre-determined, time-loop romance (which is an incredibly long story). The loss of two great characters who had just began a budding and endearing romance left the show feeling empty and missing the magic from the original group. Audiences were angry at the fact that the dynamic that had attracted them in the first place was now gone.

I currently attend the University of Salford, studying Broadcast Journalism. That's it really. Told you there was nothing special. If you're really that desperate for something to do, follow me on socials. Yes, I do like that ego boost.
