10 Sci-Fi TV Shows In DESPERATE Need Of A Revival
1. Agent Carter
Marvel's Agent Carter enjoyed a successful eight-part debut season on ABC back in 2015 as it chronicled Peggy Carter's attempts to move on from the heartbreak of losing her beloved Steve Rogers in Captain America: The First Avenger.
It also acted as an MCU prequel, exploring a time period that no film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe could, adding depth to the overall story and promising to show us how the legendary Founder of S.H.I.E.L.D. overcame the patriarchy of the time to form the organization. Unfortunately, it never got the chance to do the latter as it was cancelled after its second season.
Avengers: Endgame may have shown us a new ending to Peggy's story, but there's still so much of the in-between to delve into. With Disney Plus venturing into the limited series territory with WandaVision, Loki and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, now is the perfect time to revive Agent Carter for a limited series and finally show us how she founded S.H.I.E.L.D.
This format could also be sustained as the show could return for limited runs over an extended period of time, allowing Hayley Atwell to continually reprise the role for short bursts as it documents various aspects of Carter's life and career.
Peggy Carter is too rich a character to waste, and Marvel now has the means of correcting ABC's mistakes. It should definitely happen.
