10 Sci-Fi TV Shows You Must Binge-Watch This Summer

3. The Boys

Warrior Nun
Amazon Prime

The Boys' debut offering was a revelation of sorts for superhero television. A mature series that never shied away from its source material, it was well-aware of how many boundaries it could push on a streaming service - and the Amazon Prime original wasted little time doing it.

Set in a universe in which the notion of being a superhero is little more than a title given to corrupt super-powered actors who work for large corporations, the show follows a band of rogues who decided to monitor and ultimately challenge the so-called heroes, becoming the real heroes that this depressing world needed.

It has been long-rumored that Season 2 would follow in its predecessor's footsteps by dropping during the summer and a recent update from showrunner Eric Kripke made that seem like a legitimate possibility. It has since been confirmed that it will technically land just outside of the summer period instead, arriving in early September.

Now you finally have that excuse to rewatch Season 1, but in all honesty, do you really need an excuse to revisit that greatness?
