10 Secret Subplots You Learn From Watching Parks & Recreation Deleted Scenes

8. Leslie Almost Kills Nick Newport Sr.

Parks and Recreation Shawna Paul Rudd
NBC

In the season two episode "94 Meetings," Leslie very nearly ends up charged with murder - or negligent homicide, at least - while attending the 85th birthday party of former Sweetums CEO Nick Newport Sr. (Christopher Murray).

After Leslie denounces Newport Sr.'s wife Jessica Wicks (Susan Yeagley), she attempts to literally pull the plug on the party by unplugging the lights, only for Jessica to state that she's actually unplugged the poor old guy's breathing machine.

Hilariously, Leslie simply quips, "Sorry, my bad!" before fleeing the scene without making any effort at all to save him. Newport Sr. nevertheless survived, though his seemingly unrelated death was later confirmed in season four.

Still, had things gone just a little differently, Leslie's life path would've taken a major swerve.
